The new Royal Blackburn Hospital opened in July 2006. The design and construction of the new Single Site Hospital was carried out by Balfour Haden Joint Venture (A partnership between Balfour Beatty Construction and Haden Young) on behalf of Consort HealthCare, the Trust’s PFI Partners).The new building includes inpatient wards, a centralised outpatient department, 11 new operating theatres and a new Accident and Emergency Department.

Munnelly Logistics successfully completed a range of services, including

front of house security, traffic management, delivery management, waste management, hoist drivers, temporary works, fire management and multi service. The project was a particular success with regards to waste management where a recycling compound was established and the segregation of seven waste streams implemented on site including, hardcore, timber, metal, plasterboard, packaging, cardboard and paper waste.
