Deliveries are the
very lifeblood of a project and play an integral role in
the success of a project. Munnelly Support Services
in line with our sustainability policy aim to reduce the
number of deliveries to site and therefore the vehicle
movements and subsequent CO2 emissions by utilising a
variety of innovative systems. As well as using
Consolidation Centres
and Vehicle Holding Zones
Munnellys also implement a delivery software system to
co-ordinate not only the deliveries to site, but also
integrate the onsite use of plant into the delivery
process.
The software is uniquely configured for each
individual project and creates, Gates, Hoists, Crane,
Forklift, material holding zones etc which are agreed
between the client and Munnelly Support Services.
Materials can therefore be distributed to the correct
areas when unloaded.
The weekly co ordination meeting will be held by the
Logistics Manager who implements the delivery booking procedure
and liaises with the sub contractor teams to ensure that
deliveries for both aspects of construction are compatible. The
client Construction Manager can request priority for program
critical items or long distance deliveries to ensure program
delivery.
Weekly reports are produced for the client advising of sub
contractors number of deliveries, and any non conformances on
site which enables efficient benchmarking and thus highlighting
areas of improvements.
Munnellys also implement a Zone Manager Weekly Delivery
Screen displayed in the main security entrance on a wide screen
to provide a visual schedule for all site operatives entering
site. This is also coordinated with regular health and safety
updates and project changes in the entrance and site canteens as
an interactive notice board for the project.
