The Victoria and Albert Museum, abbreviated as the V&A, is the world’s largest museum of decorative arts and design. Housing a permanent collection of over 4.5 million objects and located in Kensington London, the V&A covers over 12.5 acres and holds 145 galleries.
Since 2001, the museum has embarked on a major renovation programme, which has seen an overhaul of the departments, including the introduction of newer galleries, gardens, shops and visitor facilities. It has been tagged the biggest museum development in London since the Millennium and the renovations have doubled annual visitor numbers to more than 2 million over 7 years.
Munnellys provided primarily an operative supply service to the Victoria and Albert Museum. We at Munnelly Operative Supply believe that the traditional method of operative supply is no longer viable in modern construction. This now has to be re-aligned with the Client’s requirements for sustainability, the protection of individuals and future generations. The operative supply element at the V&A was no different. The service that we provided complied in every aspect with this belief.
This standpoint is borne out of the construction process as opposed to employment agency limitations. We as a construction company have the knowledge and understanding to assimilate what the operative requirements may be and can supply this accordingly. Munnelly Operative Supply believes that the market has to develop into a more accountable service and we are at the forefront of that change.
