Waste Reduction Targets
The SWMP requires Contractors to predict waste arising and plan for its onward recycling.
Long before April 2009, Munnelly Environmental compiled all the relevant documentation now compulsory in a Site Waste Management Plan. This included haulier’s licenses, duty of care, disposal licenses and auditing details.
More recently, we have developed a web-based waste management tool that incorporates all of the environmental needs that a site may have. The tool will prepare, implement and review an SWMP whilst also offering a waste-measurement solution. You can use this service from any computer with internet access via a unique username and password.
Furthermore, we introduced the benchmarking of waste generation for individual projects. Munnelly Environmental produces and updates KPIs and EPIs that show the levels of waste produced per £100,000 of the build cost and m3 per 100,000 square foot.
The information produced can be used to set and measure waste reduction targets on future projects, in addition to comparing like for like projects; ensuring the important goal of overall waste reduction can be achieved.
